Influence Map

--MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE
this band have to be my favourite band ive listened to.
the lyrics are warped and they sing about things that most 'pop bands' dont and wouldnt dare to.
having the different view on things not usually discussed gives me more of an open broad mind.
very many of these lyrics they create i have previously painted and drawn pictures for.
the way this band words their songs it makes them have a double meaning, so im always thinking of what the certain song means thats playing.
not just the obvious meaning, but the underlying message the bands trying to get across.
for people who listen to this band, theyre usually assumed 'emo' because the songs are deeper than pop/ rock bands nowadays.
having the raw music playing always makes me feel awake and ready, i can connect to it no matter what my mood.

--MARCUS HARVEY
this man is a painter, who paints women in a differnt way than most.
his paintings arnt elagent or flattering, theyre just raw unperfected images of how he percieves women.
for example, one painting he has created was of a woman peeing in the sink.
the style in which he paints also grbas my attention.
its messy with paint all over the place, he tends to make the general shapes with the movement of the paint.
he then makes a thin outline of the actual image he was creating, so you sometimes have to really search for the image.
most people look really hard and when they realise what the painting is, they are disgusted.
i like painters who can make people have this reaction by painting such a simple thing.

--SALAD FINGERS
an online video which most people know.
the man 'salad fingers' is a creepy weirdo who enjoys pain and has imaginary friends.
yet again, i like how creppy it is for people to watch.
his simple movements, sound and layout of the whole thing.
the storys are simple, but very creepy

--TRAP DOOR
i watched this program as a child and loved it.
its set in a haunted castle on the top of a hill, it usually always rains and thunders.
theres a master upstairs and a slave who fetches him whatever he wishes.
theres a trapdoor in the middle of the kitchen door that is forbiden, but we all know that whatever is forbidden we must use.
so this is basically what happens during this show, 'Bert' the slave opens the trap door and 'bad things' happen.
not too scary as its a kids show, but giant spiders, and squid tenticals bursting open the trap door and destroying things.
this was a playdough kind of show, i used to always try and make the charactors and new scary aliens with my own.

--POKEMON
the classic. everyone knows what/ who pikachu is.
its a famous design which has sold loads of merch and is still making money.
creatng new pokemon and creating new quests, its moved onto another generation of pokemon players.
the simple design and colourings make them easy to identify.
when designing any type of logo or character, id always aim for it to be as well known as pikachu is with pokemon.

--POCAHONTAS
my favourite disney movie descerning right from wrong, good from evil.
disney movies are well known for gettin across that 'underlaying message' to their audience
pocahontas is more about race and peace between nations, and of course love.
the wind in scence of this movie really grab my attention
turning wind, and invisible force, into something recognisable and symbolic to the movie at the same time
i enjoy how there is a side entertainment with the posh dog and rackoon.
even on this level they learnt to love each other despite their differences.
so to sumerise, pocahontas for getting across the true message of right and wrong, and doing it clearly.

--THE DARK CRYSTAL
a puppet movie, also about good rivalling evil. but in a more blunt way than disney.
the obvious visuals of scary looking birds fighting each other as evil compaired to those of the gentle beasts that roam slowly and almost hippy-like.
